Wendy L. Gordon
In April 2017 Wendy L. Gordon & Friends had the pleasure of being the opening act for the national recording artists (The Stylistics) at Harris Stowe State University
She was blessed to have been mentored by the late great " Lady Jazz" Mae Wheeler. She appeared on six of the ten Diva shows produced by Mae " Lady Jazz" Wheeler's Foundation (PAAR). She has graced the stages of the Sheldon Concert Hall, Westport Playhouse, Black Rep, Kranzberg, and the Lee Desmond Theater with countless seasoned musicians, vocalists and actors/actresses. Presently, she has partnered with the legendary Ms. Jeanne Trevor (First Lady Of Song). They were cast in four of the A Jazz Heaven Series and three of the First Night New Year's Eve performance at the Kranzberg Theater. She was a contestant in the Ms. Senior America MO pageant in 2011 and placed 1st runner-up. In March 2017 I was inducted as queen for the year of 2011,As a result of being a contestant she was inducted into the MO Cameo Club (now known as Missouri Alumnae Pageant Contest or MPAC). As member she performs faithfully in Showcases at assistant living, nursing homes and senior centers. MPAC distributes all proceeds from each Showcase to local charities throughout the St. Louis area.
She's currently performing around town and on the road for public and private venues with seasoned musicians and evolving as an actress, poet, storyteller, author, voice over artist and producer/promoter.
Wendy L. Gordon is the author of Jazz Heaven Series. She is a song stylist, an actress, poet, author, storyteller and producer/promoter. She has performed throughout the St. Louis Area and metropolitan area for over 20 years.
In addition, she is the author of the Jazz Heaven Series (9 total). All series are performed by seasoned St. Louis artists. These series were written to inform and entertain audience of all age, race or ethnicity and keep the music, literary works and artistic dances of some of our most noted artists alive. She has produced this series annually at different venues throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area such as (St. Louis Ethical Society, Kranzberg Art Center and for the past three years at the James Eagan Theater in Florissant MO.
Jazz Heaven Series are available for Fundraisers, Banquets, Conventions, Weddings etc. We can modify the show/s to meet your needs. Demos are available upon request.
